Well, I have good news and bad!

I’m really happy with my etsy shop. It has grown into a wonderful place for me to express my ideas and new designs just seem to pop into my head every single day. I am happy to say that ravelry has sent me many viewers to my shop. Thank you, ravelry!

But what it comes down to is that I have a job designing knitwear for Plymouth Yarn Company. This is a great opportunity and I am so excited to tell you all about it! But the sad news would be that I can’t seem to keep up with the demands of everything, plus my hobby.

If you were wondering if I was going to keep up my designs on etsy, then, yes.. but not as often. Most of my effort will be going to my day job now. I will still design some on my own when I can. This blog will probably not be kept up, though, because something has to give.

Maybe at some point in the future I will be continuing to write here. But for now, please look for my designs and ideas on my etsy and at Plymouth, of course!

By popular demand, my Dragon Cabled Gauntlets are here!

Of course, black goes with everything. Especially if you are a NY kind of girl. But these gauntlets… magnificent!

The yarn is 100% merino, washable, and very springy. Absolutely soft and no itchiness attached. The gauntlets are approximately 13″ long, each having an opening for the thumb to slide in to. I originally made these because my jacket had half sleeves and just would not do on those cold Philadelphia streets. These were the perfect addition! But now, I think these gauntlets are just perfect for any time. Heck, they’d be lovely with a sleeveless top in the spring!

If are a knitter and want the pattern for this, please see my listing:

….. if you really like these and want them in a different color, please let me know!

The Lady of Shallott, a poem by Alfred Lord Tennyson, is about a lady of the days of Camelot. The story is of the lady, who so left her tower and discovered the price, inspired this purse.

She knows not what the curse may be,
And so she weaveth steadily,
And little other care hath she,
The Lady of Shalott.

The 3 tiers of undulating waves of lacy powder blue ruffles.. like the water the lady passed through on her boat….

The bent heart criss-cross design clasp closure and chain handle, with an antique finish, entangles the heart of the Lady of Shallott.. for when she glances for the first time at Lancelot, without using the mirror, she dies.. The bent heart, bent and broken forever.

The lining of the purse is an iridescent satin purple blue… much like the gorgeous hues the lady would have worn.

You can find my lovely Lady of Shallott Purse on sale in my etsy.

hpim1189I’ve been playing around dyeing yarn. This is a ball of tea dyed chunky yarn. I love the antiqued look.

retreat2009-004

Alas, the retreat in Cape May is over. And luckily, some pretty decent pictures were taken in our local paper, Exit Zero!

Here we have (far right picture) Angie, me, and Heather Allwelt.

It was a great retreat, with tea rooms, a Victorian tour, classes, and I was so happy to spend time with my dearest Angie. :)

I also made my first treasury on etsy! Please check it out!
